    Change in scrput behaviour

No reason other than convenience. The line is taken from a btm file that reads records from a CSV file. Some of its records have empty fields, but I can't predict which. I'll work around it. -- Peter

    Change in scrput behaviour

Running v17.00.52. Consider the command "scrput %_row 27 bri yel on bla %cel". In previous versions, the command worked as expected even if the variable %cel was empty or undefined. In v17 an empty/undefined variable triggers an error. Adding `` at the end of the command is a workaround -- Peter

One of the Focuses of V17 Beta Testing Should Be Command Line Parsing

    Here's something that doesn't work the way it did in v16. First, from v16: 12 C:\btm ver TCC 16.03.55 Windows 7 [Version 6.1.7600] 0 C:\btm type clip: 72053 72061 72062 72062 0 C:\btm for z in (@clip:) echo %z 72053 72061 72062 72062 Next, from v17: 11 C:\btm ver TCC 17.00.42 Windows 7...

    Observations on v15 install

I've used this product since 1994. While an occasion an upgrade presented a problem, most of the time I have had nothing to worry about. Besides, a public beta already will have passed many alpha hurdles thanks to rigorous testing by people such as yourself. And I'm prepared to backtrack...

    Observations on v15 install

I just installed v15.00.18 on XP. I installed to the same directory as v14, but I had not emptied the directory before the install. I told the installer to replace previous versions. After installing, I typed "help" and got the v14 help page instead of the v15 page. I ran "copy /c/n <source...

    Documentation Installer

In French, the v14.0.21 installer window title says "Installation de Take Command 13.0", the text header is "Bienvenue dans l'Assistant de Configuration de Take Command 13.0", and the text starts with "L'Assistane de Configurationva installer Take Command 13.0 sur votre ordinateur." -- Peter

    403 forbidden

While it may seem awkward to you, it's a time-saver to me. I have my computer do the grunt work while I do something more useful. At say 5 minutes per update, times 4 licenses, I would spend 20 minutes updating fairly regularly. On the other hand I spend maybe an hour a year figuring out how...

    403 forbidden

Unwittingly, I guess, it has for a while. It's a record of changes for almost every release that's beeen available since version 11. Checking this file to see if a new version has been released is fast and can be automated. Here's are the first few lines from the version 11 file...

    Help nit

How about formatting the TPIPE help to display one option per line to make it less daunting? Like so: TPIPE [/input=filename] [/output=filename] [/filter=filename] [/save=filename] [/unicode=input,output] [/simple=n] [/eol=input,output,length]...

    Take Command Major Updates Poll

That's $50 per year per license, I have a 4-system license that costs me around $200 a year. No problema.

    Take Command Major Updates Poll

I'm quite happy to pay $50 a year to keep abreast of major upgrades. Whatever upgrade model JP Soft ends up using, it looks like that won't change much. I'm hardly on top of every tweak and feature an upgrade introduces so I don't feel a burning need to be always on the cutting edge. I'm happy...
