JP Software would like to thank all of our users for their continued support and suggestions.  We've been creating command processors for more than 27 years now -- starting way back with MS-DOS 2.0, and a lot of you have been here for most or all of that time!  It's been a long crazy ride but we wouldn't have missed it.

Take Command 20.10

We released Take Command 20.10 just in time for the holidays, and it is a free upgrade for everyone with a v20.0 license.  If you haven't yet upgraded to v20,  you can download a fully functional evaluation version of v20.10 from our web site. (Note that the v20.10 installer is a combined x86 / x64 installer; it will determine the appropriate version to install for your version of Windows.)

What's in Take Command 20.10?

Take Command v20.10 is an internal architecture update focusing on performance, memory usage, and reliability. A number of the third-party DLL's have also been updated, and all known bugs have been fixed. For details, see "What's New" in the help.

A partial list of the changes includes:

• Performance enhancements in TCMD, IDE, and TCC
• Reduced memory usage in TCMD, IDE, and TCC, often by several Mb
• Updated GUI framework in TCMD and IDE
• Updated IPWorks dll's; removed ipworksssl9.dll
• Updated installer version
• Updated Scintilla DLL (IDE editor and command input window)
• Improved UTF8 support in the IDE editor
• Improved many of the language lexers in the IDE editor
• Updated Everything Search
• HELP - dropped support for IE 8 (& earlier)
