Wrong version number in Start Menu?

There were no errors reported. I've made that mistake in the past -- I've had an instance of TCC running and the installer complains, so I close whatever is running and then continue. I've got many years of experience screwing things up so it is entirely possible that it was my fault, but it...

Wrong version number in Start Menu?

Installed TCC 32 build 15 ver still reports 32.00.11 Uninstalled TCC Made sure "C:\Program Files\TCC" was completely empty Scrubbed registry of references to TCC Reboot Install TCC 32 build 15 ver now reports correct build number Everything was fine up to and including build 11. Somewhere...

Wrong version number in Start Menu?

I do not have the full Take Command installed, only TCC and TCC-RT. TCC is installed in "C:\Program Files\TCC" I am starting TCC from a shortcut that points to "C:\Program Files\TCC\tcc.exe" There are no aliases or plugins ver has always returned the correct version number in the past. Now...

Wrong version number in Start Menu?

More weirdness. Installed TCC 32.0 build 14. Right click on tcc.exe, select Properties --> Details and it shows version 32.0.14 which is exactly what I would expect. At the TCC command line, type ver and it says TCC 32.00.11 TCC Build 11

Discrepancy in versions with Windows 11

Yes, this is correct. For reasons known only to Microsoft, the internal version number of Windows 11 begins with 10.0 not 11.0. I discovered this when trying to write a batch file that would detect whether it was running under Windows 10 or 11. Also, if you go to the old Control Panel (in...

    How to get Windows version

The internal variable %_winver used by Take Command / TCC is useless because it returns 10.0 on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. This is Microsoft's fault, but the question remains: how do I determine what version of Windows is actually running from a TCC batch file?

    Buttons missing from Help

When using TCC, I press F1 and it brings up the Help program. The minimize, maximize and close buttons are not there: But, if I put the mouse cursor over the spot where the button is supposed to be, the "tool tip" appears: If I run the "eViewer.exe" program directly, or launch it by...

    TCC 30 virus

Installed TCC 30 and my AV program (Bitdefender) reports that the file "SReplace.exe" is infected with "Gen.Variant.Lazy.329695". Probably a false alarm but you should probably check it out.

How Can One Enter an Email Address Containing a Comma

Have you ever been able to use a comma in this manner? I'm thinking that it might not be possible. Have you considered maybe doing this instead: Jay Sage - TCMD User

DIR output is backwards, any way to change it?

Well, PDIR does indeed work, and I can get the display output that I want ... sort of ... BUT ... only in very limited and very specific circumstances. PDIR really only works, IF: (1) All the filenames in a directory are more or less the same length (2) Or, if there are longer filenames...

DIR output is backwards, any way to change it?

Yes, CMD also displays directory listings backwards. But, TCC is supposed to be better than CMD. Will investigate PDIR. Thanks.

DIR output is backwards, any way to change it?

The default output of DIR is: Just my opinion but this is completely backwards. The normal reading order is left to right. File names should be first, not last. Is there any (easy) way to change this?
