Dropping Windows 7 support in Take Command / TCC v26

I agree. Hence why I said "offline except steam". That should be manageable to do by using and defining whitelisted domains/ports (in the router) instead of the opposite for this computer. There shouldn't be any expected security issues before 2020.01.14 + 1month though. (14 Jan is the second...

Dropping Windows 7 support in Take Command / TCC v26

Will there still be bugfixes for 25 for a while after that date? Buying a new computer just for W10/TCC26 is rather.. but then again, this one is already getting somewhat old, so I would have to do so eventually. This one will probably be offline except for Steam at that time.

    Missing DLL

This experience with the missing dll displayed a rather useless installer. Doing a Repair was a rather bad idea as it installed Everything even though it weren't installed to begin with. I assume Repair also registered all available file extensions rather than the previously selected .btm Later...

    Documentation Q.Search doesn't support selection?

It seems like the quick search field in the documentation doesn't support selecting its contents though Ctrl+A, mouse, etc which makes it slightly annoying to clear the field before a new quick search. I'd like to suggest adding support for it. The help pages also doesn't seem to support the...

    Registered to machine-name?

    Ok, thanks for answering. :)

    Registered to machine-name?

Maybe a silly question, but.. Is v20 really supposed to display "Registered to <machine-name>" like it does with 20.00.14? Earlier versions (18 and lower) displayed purchaser's name + license count.

    Yay, it works!

    Installer problem with default handler

Yeah, having TCMD as the handler for those is often undesirable when you simply want to run a batchfile. TCC do a better job with those, and without starting the TCMD wrapper to do so. Something similar to the above (or just TCC) would probably be better. It would also be nice if it remembered...

Fixed Update to 18.00.25 not ok

Same here, but with .26. First the installer complained about an error it couldn't handle. I killed the process and restarted it, and the installer worked properly..or so I think. However, trying to start TCC after install caused same/similar to the above (I reverted immediately to .24). W7 x64...

    Keeping taskbar-pinned shortcut?

I use a custom shortcut and have it attached to the taskbar. v17 replaced/s it with a blank, but .62 didn't (it removed it). v16 ialways removes it. v15 and earlier let me keep that taskbar icon throughout versions.

Fixed ParameterChar in TCMD.INI no longer working

The questions wasn't to me, but here goes. 1. ParameterChar value seems to be controlled by Advanced/Parameter in the option dialog, so maybe you should ask "why does that dialog use that value". 2. This one is probably quite easy to explain. On the nordic keyboards (at least on mine) you'll...

Fixed ParameterChar in TCMD.INI no longer working

@rconn, Same thing happens in both TC and TCC. TC wraps TCC, so that's given. The parameter code itself doesn't appear to be the problem, but rather the code for reading/interpreting the parameterchar value when read from the inifile. The inifile's parameterchar value is stored correctly (when...

Fixed ParameterChar in TCMD.INI no longer working

@Detlef, I've been in that business myself for several years. It isn't that surprising that a new major version have some gotcha's (bugs or whatnot), but they usually get fixed quite rapidly. At least if it is isn't behaving as intended. This kind isn't easy to detect in QA (specific locale and...

Fixed ParameterChar in TCMD.INI no longer working

@Detlef, well it is true that the codepage is the reason, but there's probably some change between versions that caused it to differ in v17. I tried using OPTION to set it to 'ø', and that works..until you close TCC. Closing TCC, then restarting it and it no longer works (while "°" do). The...

@SCRIPT does not like all comments

In vbscript ' is a line comment, in other words, everything from that char until the end of line (#13#10) will be treated as a comment. (The same is true for jscript's // comment) If you place it at the end of the code it obviously won't matter, because no code follows. I'm not sure if vbscript...
