How to? Add real <ESC> characters with TPIPE

I want to use TPIPE /REPLACE to color certain words. I tried using, as a replacement string, "^e[32;1m$0^e[0m" thinking that would later be OK with TYPE. But it's not; TYPE wants real <ESC> characters (0x1B). Does anyone know if (and how) I can specify a real <ESC> in the replacement string?

Thanks.
