I'd like to see an option for setlocal and endlocal so that the cwd for all drives is saved and then restored.

That wouldn't be too painful for local drives, but it could get really slow if you wanted network drives as well.

Yeah I can see that. Well, if you do it with a switch you could use :n to include network drives like /d:n.
