Allow Pasting from Clipboard over Selected Text in Command Line

Currently, in a TCMD TCC tab, one can place the cursor by clicking the mouse and then paste from the clipboard. However, one cannot select text in the command line and then paste from the clipboard to replace the selected text, as one can do in most applications. Instead, the new text is simply inserted as if nothing had been selected before pasting.

I realize that this might be hard to do, but if it could be done, it would be nice. I find myself trying to do this and failing.

Related to this is an issue with pasting from the ClipX application. ClipX keeps a history of clipboard entries and stores some standard snippets of text for pasting. I open it with Ctrl-Sift-V, and when I click on one of the displayed entries, it is inserted into application I was using. It works in every application (web browsers, email programs, text editors, Microsoft Office) except TCMD. There only a 'v' appears in the command line. I can delete the 'v' and then use Ctrl-V to paste the text selected in ClipX, but it would be nice if ClipX could paste directly. Again, this may be something that is not easy to implement, but I thought I would mention it.
