Hi

I keep getting a directory created that has the name
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%

and when you look under it, it contains the following subdirectories

└──%ALLUSERSPROFILE%
└──Application Data
└──Office Genuine Advantage
└──data

And I am reasonably certain I know what is causing it : Microsoft Excel 2003.

Sometime back (3 months ago), I applied the GenuineAdvantage Internet control from MS for validating that it was a Genuine copy of Excel installed. And ever since then, if I start Excel from the command line with a filename as argument, lo and behold it creates thuis directory structure and file in innermost directory at the directory the Excel file resides in.

So far, I have not managed to find out how to unenable this feature.
Anyone seen this?

Thanks

Stephen Howe

I've had this issue in V8 it was caused by an alias "doc"
doc="%userprofile%\my documents\"
typing md doc would cause the folder to be created as you'd expect the
alias was expanded
have since changed the alias so this doesn't happen.

Could that be the simple solution
