Backing up JPSoft

I use the option to specify the ini file on the tcc.exe command line --- the inifile is saved my Dropbox folder

As @fpefpe said, back up your TCMD.INI. You can also export the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\JP Software" to a .REG file and back up that file. And do the same for a file containing your registration code.

For TCEdit/IDE, if you have XMLSettings enabled in your tcmd.ini file;
Code:
[4NT]
XMLSettings=Yes
...you will also need to backup the .xml files.

On my system, they are;
Code:
 Volume in drive C is unlabeled Serial number is acb2:6a48
 Directory of  C:\Program Files\JPSoft\TCMD34\*.xml

2025-01-28  21:23           5,707  IDE.xml
2025-01-28  21:27           2,725  TCEdit.xml
               8,432 bytes in 2 files and 0 dirs 12,288 bytes allocated

Vince, a bit off topic, but I notice from your wig line that you are running Win-10 Pro. Why not Win-11?

@CWBillow, Please try the last thing I suggested in the thread about colors.

I tried the in-place upgrade once, three or more years ago. When it was over ...

1. I couldn't open a rather important password-protected file, PASSWORDS.DOCX. The error message said it was in use by some network. I don't have a network.

2. I could print anything except PDF files. That's a show-stopper because I do 3-5 crosswords per day from the Times (of London).

I have nothing against Windows11 and I have no particular need for it.

Does the in-place upgrade still offer the option of backing out? Maybe I'll try again.
