Error messages? FILELOCK? Can you delete them manually with Explorer?

I don't know what you can do about that. Are you trying elevated? The only time I had a windows.old folder (last May?) I just deleted it. I don't remember any fuss.
 
The windows.old is because I had to have the drive cloned then windows reinstalled. I'm taking it to the repair shop today.... Somehow I don't see some shgortcuts - like "Windows Update", etc...
