I've never really understood why so many programs can't do reasonable column width defaults. How hard can it be? If it is so hard, why doesn't Windows have an API to help?
Anyway, I have a high-resolution display (3840x2160). The TCC IDE gives me a bunch of very narrow columns at the bottom of the window, leaving most of the space unused. Even more frustrating is that the column widths I set are not remembered. Perhaps that's because TCC usually ends with a crash.
