conhost survivor

On my Win7 SP1 system running portable TCC 13.01.31 I occasionally see a conhost process surviving its hosted TCC after I close the console window from its [x] button. At which point the conhost process stays around doing nothing until reboot.
1. Has anyone else noticed similar behavior with TCC or other console apps?
2. What might be causing such behavior?

This is totally normal. Microsoft redesigned the way console applications talk to the system in Windows Vista and later. Though in good Microsoft tradition, new bugs will have been introduced, as Rex can probably attest to. :)
