I've had this problem in the past with previous versions of TCMD but this problem is repeatable even across IPLs of the system. If I enter DIR /Z the display gets almost to the end before the GPF.

Here is the Windows XP Event Viewer data logged:

I was also able to save the file from the Microsoft "Send Error" report although I didn't send the report to Microsoft. I can e-mail the report and a copy of the DESCRIPT.ION file (Since this one doesn't have any passwords in it like the time I previously reported the problem) if you let me know where to send it.

My Road Runner today has been flaky, so I might be slow to respond to any reply.

Bad form to reply to one's post, but I couldn't edit the title. This error occurred in TCMD V11 NOT V10 as the post title indicates.

Thanks for the reply Charles.

I suppose I could do as you suggested, but based upon my prior experience with this problem I don't think it will fix it. Plus I don't want to have to recapture the problem data when it (probably) will occur again since I've never seen in a release note where this problem was addressed. Additionally, the directory where this occurs is not always the same and the current failure location is a directory that gets updated fairly often and I don't want to make any changes to it even though I made a copy of the failing DESCRIPT.ION file.

Searching the forum, I saw where I initially reported this problem on 03/22/2009 @12:03. At the time I was using TCMD V10.00.59. At that time Rex asked me to send him my DESCRIPT.ION file, but I didn't do that because that particular file contained passwords. At that time Rex also asked about a TCC.GPF file. I just now did a FFIND /A: /S /Dcdefghijkl TC*.GP* on my system and 0 files were found so for some reason it is not being created.

On a related note, from my post of 03/22/2009 I saw that the DIR /Z worked on 4NT V8.01 (ASCII). Since I still have that installed I tried the DIR /Z command on today's failing location and it worked without any errors.

Please send the DESCRIPT.ION file to support@jpsoft.com. (The Windows error
report is useless.)

Hallo Rex,

I don't know how you do it, but this is how your quotes (and your's only) look in my Note that there a Winmail:

Please send the DESCRIPT.ION file to support@jpsoft.com. (The
Windows error report is useless.)

Please note the unquoted quotes regularly cropping up. Could your software not use quote styles like those most used here?
