editing an existing thread

Question:
If I edit one of my old threads or posts (because of new findings or additional informations),
will the other members see it as a new/changed post?
Or will it be unrecognized and perish?

regards
Frank

I know it does *not* get resent as an email notification. However, I don't know if a new alert gets created. My gut feeling is that it does not generate any new notifications.

Frank, I believe (although I haven't formally verified this) that it is better to add a new posting down at the bottom of the thread than it is to edit an existing posting because new "alerts" will be created in that instance.

ok, the next time I will better post a reply.
( in another forum I was admonished not to reply but to edit; it probably depends on the forum software).
Have a nice weekend.
