I have two displays attached to my system.
The majority of the time, I just use one display, but several times a week, I require the second display.
Thus, I have created the following Aliases to easily expand/external the displays;
When I type extend at the TCC prompt, I have two active monitors.
When I type external at the TCC prompt, I just have my one primary monitor.
(Yes, my second screen is my main screen, not a normal setup.)
Typing DisplaySwitch.exe by itself will present you with the GUI method of projecting your monitors.
