Firefox tricks

Firefox came up with a new look, "Nova". I liked the new tabs and hated the color gradient in the tabs background. Here's a fix (and more)

Create the "chrome" directory and "userChrome.css" file.

c:\users\<USERNAME>\appdata\roaming\mozilla\firefox\profiles\hp13o7f2.default-release\chrome> d
2026-10-01 13:05 432 userChrome.css

Put this in the file, actually just the first two blocks. The second two blocks change the BG color of the tab bar and the navigation bar. The #dd9933 is orange which is OK with me for now.

.tab-background:is([selected], [multiselected]) {
background-color: #dd9933 !important;
background-image: none !important;
box-shadow: none !important;
}

:root:not([theme-image-in-toolbox]) body {
--toolbox-background-image: none !important;
}

#TabsToolbar {
background-color: #101014 !important;
}

#nav-bar {
background-color: #101014 !important;
background-image: none !important;
}

Google AI gave me that with the "important" comments.

Then enable user-customized style sheets in about:config by setting toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to TRUE.

Here's what I see now.
