Hybrid view?

In hybrid view, each time you select an article in the tree view of the thread, the tree itself is scrolled back to the top, often with the currently viewed article (in bold) not visible. This makes for a lot of scrolling of the tree. Would it be possible to position the tree so that the currently viewed article is topmost (as much as possible) so that it and what's below it are readily visible?

Can you make the tree collapsible/expandable?

Is it possible to add a "next article in thread" button where, while reading an article, it's reachable without scrolling?

Those all require writing custom PHP scripts. I'll add them to the
suggestion list, but it's not going to happen soon.
