I cannot attach a jpeg

this is a test for attaching a hardcopy-jpeg.

1. Upload a File

  • I cklick on "Upload a File"
  • I select a file
  • than my "Network Meter" shows me an increased upload rate for some seconds
  • the selected filename under Upload a file from your computer disappears
  • I click close
  • I can't see an attachment in my post
2. Insert/Edit Image

  • I click the icon in the menu bar
  • I follow the instruction Enter image URL: and paste the filename (C:\Users\Frank\Documents\Greenshot\RegToolsPlugin1.jpg)
  • I click insert and nothing happens

Can anyone please help me? Perhaps I will need this function sometime.

edit:
Now I can see a broken link and the source is

Of course this can't work. What am I doing wrong or am I totally on the wrong track?

At this point, the whole upload dialog should disappear and an extra area should appear under your edit box where you can select to insert either a Thumbnail or the Full Image like this...

So basically, it works for me in Google Chrome 18.0.1025.142 m

I don't think anything is supposed to happen here. This is how you can show an image that is hosted somewhere on the internet. For instance, viewing the page source, I can see that the path to your avatar is

Code:
http://static.jpsoft.com/forums/data/avatars/m/3/3687.jpg

So if I "Insert/edit image" and use that link I should get your image to display in my message.

Like this.

Hello John,

thank you. Now at least I know that with 2. I was on the wrong track because the file must be hosted in the internet.

But I can't figure out what's happening with 1.
Your description is what I would expect, too.
I use Coolnovo 2.0.2.26 based on Chromium 17.0.963.56.

I will try IE and Firefox.

edit:
same behavior with Firefox 11.0.

edit:
same behavior with MSIE 9

:(
