Invalid client configuration file

Please help:

Checking for updates leads to message box:
"Checking for Updates - Invalid client configuration file"

??? which one?

TCC 17.00.71 x64 Windows 7 [Version 6.1.7601]

Not reproducible here (either 32-bit or 64-bit).

That error means that TCMD couldn't query the configuration file on the web server (or that the configuration file wasn't the right version).

Anybody else able to reproduce this?

issue still exists.

Maybe the reason is: TCMD was not installed, just extracted and executed.
Maybe should I perform some regsrv ?

Post the contents of your Updater.ini files.

I have no updater.ini at all.
It doesn't exist in downloaded tcmdx64.exe

That cannot work. We don't support installing TCMD in any way other than using the installer.

The installer does a lot of other work -- creating the updater script (which is what's failing for you), registering com dll's, setting/updating a number of registry keys, configuring the firewall, creating the uninstall script, etc. Skipping all of that will at best result in a crippled TCMD that is missing many features.

This limited support is enough for me: I'm using only functionalities from TCC/LE + bdebugger.
