Keeping taskbar-pinned shortcut?

I don't remember how I did it but I managed to have TCCv16 pinned to the taskbar in such a way that updating did not remove the pinned shortcut. Does anyone know how to do that?

I'll try that but I'm not confident.
In my case it does not work. I have windows 8.1 pro x64. I created a shortcut to tcc.exe on my desktop. From there, I drag and drop it on the task-bar. Every time I update, the icon in the task-bar becomes blank. If I click on it, it appears a message that asks if I want do remove that non working link. It does not matter if I choose yes or no, the link is deleted. The link on the desktop is still there and still works, so I simply drag and drop it, until next update...

I use a custom shortcut and have it attached to the taskbar.

v17 replaced/s it with a blank, but .62 didn't (it removed it).
v16 ialways removes it.
v15 and earlier let me keep that taskbar icon throughout versions.

What does Properties show for the target and the icon?
In my case, the target is "C:\Program Files\JPSoft\TCMD17x64\tcc.exe", and the icon comes from %ProgramFiles%\JPSoft\TCMD17x64\tcc.exe (there is only one icon inside this file).
