Please could you provide further details on how to install and register a portable version of TCMDebug
I have performed the following:
Uninstall previous trial version from PC (Windows 11)
Install on my external drive (Samsung T5 Portable SSD) under F:\Portable\JPSoft\CMDebug33
Register the software - select USB (Portable) Key, choose the same directory above - this creates a file CMDebug.33.key in the same folder as the executable.
After closing and reopening CMDebug, it shows as unregistered
Show license info shows the following (if I paste in my activation key
I have found a few questions on the support forums regarding this but there do not seem to be any definitive answers from JPSoft other than that you need to run the installer and install to the external drive.
Make sure you don't have a leftover CMDebug.33.key file in "c:\programdata\JP Software". (This is the default directory for key files that aren't installed on thumb drives, and this file will not be removed on an uninstall.)
There was a file C:\ProgramData\JP Software\CMDebug.33.key. If I remove the entire C:\ProgramData\JP Software\ folder - as soon as I try run the portable version the file C:\ProgramData\JP Software\CMDebug.33.key file gets recreated (with a different key from in the portable folder) and I get the Evaluation version again.
