New Fonts

Is it possible to add new fonts in Take Command? for example Segoe UI Variable which is from what I understand the default font in Windows 11. In TCMD Options there is a "Show more fonts" link on the Popup Fonts page. I am asking because I don't understand the point: why should I see other fonts if I can't install them.
Thank you,
Florin

If you see a font listed in the dialog, then it is installed.

But the Take Command tab window can't use just any font. The tab window arranges characters in a rectangular grid -- rows and columns -- so it really needs a monospaced font. A regular proportional font, where say W is much wider than i, would look really bad if it worked at all.

If you want to install new fonts for Take Command, look for monospaced fonts. Fonts with "Console", "Typewriter", or "Mono" in their names are a good bet.

Thank you, Charles.
The question started from a finding: the @select function works as I want (to be able to see the exact number of rows as defined) only after I deleted from tcmd.ini the mention related to the font size. I assumed that the operating system selects the size. And I wanted to try the default font in Windows 11. Now I understand that that font is not in the monospaced category. Plus I wanted to find a compatible font but with a larger default size.

You really want to use Windows Terminal. Then you can use whatever font you want❟ but Cascadia Code has the most useful ligatures!
