Declined Option to default encoding of all LOGs to ASCII, UNICODE, UTF8, etc, even if user output is in another encoding

I think it would be nice if all LOGs where in the same encoding even if the user output was in a differnet one. I.g. I like all my LOGs to be in ASCII and I use UNICODE or UTF8 at times.... just don't want to edi5 the logs to change them back to all ASCII at the end of the work day....

UTF-8 is a superset of ASCII. Not a different way of encoding (unlike UTF-16/UTF-32/UCS-2).

As AnrDaemon said, use UTF-8. Your files will look like ASCII unless you have special characters (graphical or non-English).
