Due to software reinstallation, recovery, etc. I have thousands of messages
in my Outlook Express folders which have up to 6 copies. Is there a method
    to delete duplicates?

I have the same issue in Mozilla Thunderbird. If I could find a method to
prune either one, I could (with a little playing around with exporting,
    deleting and importing) prune both.

    Steve,

There's a (german) description for Thunderbird here. You could try
Google's translation. But it burns down to changing an entry using
    about:config to 2.

    HTH.
