Problem with mouse

With the last versions of TCMD 33.00.17 and 33.00.18 I can't use the mouse in TCMD. When I click in the tab the content of the tab becomes plain gray; I can't select text nor double-click.
This seems to happen only with the tabs opened from the toolbar. I don't have the problem with TCMD 32 or with TCMD 33.00.11.
This could come from some mouse support software (I have KensingtonWorks and ContourDesignExecutive2 installed), but something changed with the last versions of TCMD.

If you position, say, a Notepad window over the Take Command window, and click in that, does Take Command still react to the click?

If you double-click twice in the title bar to maximize and restore TC, does the weirdness go away for awhile?

I put a Notepad window partially overlapping TCMD33. TCMD reacts to the click if I click into Notepad but the click falls within the full size of the TCMD window (Window's title-bar included). When I click directly into TCMD the weird reaction to the click shows on the tool-bar, the text-pane, the status-line, but not Window's title-bar.
I could not exhibit a difference in behavior after double-clicking or double-clicking twice, or maximizing/restoring through the standard buttons on the title-bar.

This sounds similar, but not identical, to the issues I've been having on two separate computers. (Windows 10 and Windows 11; no Kensington software.) Are you perchance using a Dell laptop?

I have no useful advice to give you. But misery loves company!

Not reproducible here (also using a Dell laptop and a Logitech mouse).

Nothing changed with the mouse handling in v33 (though it's possible something changed in the RTL).

On my systems, I see this with both the touchpad and an external mouse.

Other info:

• I'm pretty sure this behavior started with build 12.

• One of my systems had a Dell-branded touch pad driver installed; the other does not. I tried uninstalling the Dell touchpad driver and rebooting, but it made no difference.

• Happens both with TCC tabs and other apps such as CMD.

• On my systems, maximizing and then restoring the Take Command window seems to "immunize" the current tab, at least temporarily. (But Christian reports that this does not work for him.)

Maximizing and normalizing "immunizes" a tab on my system, too. I'm using only the touchpad. (See my related note on the same subject.)

The problem shows consistently here with any mouse: ContourDesign (it seems they have written complex drivers), a basic Dell mouse, and the laptop's integrated touchpad (which I almost never use). I could see no difference when maximizing or normalizing the window; I believe I have seen this "immunizing" once when dragging the titlebar down and then readjusting the borders of the window, but I could not succeed a second time.
At first I hinted at an issue with a mouse driver. Some of the answers let me think that the problem could be related to the window manager and/or a graphics card/driver. (I remember a thread in the forum about a problem I had a long time ago (I don't remember which thread) that could also boil down to a problem with a graphichs card/driver.) (The computers at my work have Windows getting only security updates; I have to wait for the computer to be replaced in order to get a recent version of Windows; thus some drivers could be outdated on my work computer.)
What puzzles me is that the problem shows only with tabs opened from the toolbar, even if the button launches only TCC, without calling any script. If I create two groups of tabs and I show one tab created from the "New tab" button (with the "Folder" icon) and one tab created from the toolbar, the tab created from "New tab" behaves normally and the tab created from the toolbar turn plain gray when I click.

I believe I don't have a legacy console. On a TCC window, right-click on the taskbar, Properties, Options, the bottom-most check-box is labeled fr:"Utiliser la console héritée…"=en:"Use the inherited console…" but "inherited" should stand as a strange translation of "legacy". This check-box is unchecked.

I was working with v32.
I just updated v33 to Build 20. I works fine now, no more flickering, the mouse works normally, selecting text works normally.
Fine.
