Sudo For Windows 11

[Joe Caverly]

Available for Windows 11 version 24H2

I'm not on Windows 11,
but am sharing this for those that are.

Sudo for Windows is not yet available for Windows 10,
but may be in the future.

Thanks Joe, that is interesting. From the command prompt perspective though, I'm not sure if you get anything beyond start /elevated - like in the alias below

4nte=start /elevated YourPathToTCC\tcc /k

So then you can do 4nte command, where command is the one you want to elevate, eg
4nte control
to get an elevated control panel

If anyone is interested in the source code for the Microsoft Windows Sudo command,
it is located at GitHub - microsoft/sudo: It's sudo, for Windows

I wonder about that. In an elevated TCC I issue CONTROL. That gives me a second instance of Explorer.exe which is not elevated.

Depending on how exactly you start explorer, it may open a window within your currently running desktop session without actually starting a new process.

And to the sudo, I just use a relauncher.

C:\Users\anrdaemon\bin\sudo.btm :

@START "" /ELEVATED %*
