Take Command opens with (almost) white screen and then hangs

Yesterday I installed Take Command on a new computer. It worked fine yesterday but today it hangs after asking for the registration data. I didn't register yesterday and now I can't any more as only a an (almost) white screen is displayed and then hangs. After a while the “Application doesn't react” dialog appears.

Any idea how to debug this? A log file to look at?

What version of Take Command and what version of Windows are you running?

Did you modify your TCMD.INI file? Try starting TCMD.EXE with the /N option (which doesn't load TCMD.INI).

Can you run TCC.EXE?

Yes, I copy my TCMD.INI from one computer to the next. TCC on it's own works fine and can load the TCMD.INI. It just tells me I only got now 27 days for testing.

I give /N a try.

Try starting regedit, then go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\JP Software

Right click on the “Take Command 25” key, and select “delete” from the popup menu. That will remove the saved Take Command window sizes/positions/menus etc. and use the default values.
