tcc startup

Hello I asked copilot the order tcc finds the *.ini file --- it noted a environment variable "tcstart" I could not find this in the doc --- is this another case of AI making up stuff? It would be a neat option in addition to the the command line for tcc.exe that the ini file could be found in the environment variable tcstart

The variable name is _TCSTART with a leading underscore — it's an internal variable, not an environment variable. But the _ININAME variable would be a better bet. Your .INI file is not necessarily in the same place as your TCStart file.

And why are you fooling with AI when you have access to the real thing, right here?

I think Copilot made it up. Chatgpt doesn't mention it. After seeing @Charles Dye's post I think Copilot simply misunderstood.

Do you mean that the TCSTART variable would override the TCStartPath INI-file directive? If you want to specify a non-default TCSTART.BTM it seems the environment would be a clumsy way to do it.

It's foolish to trust the AI blindly.
It only knows what was published on the internet, and unable to critically evaluate it.
Always read the documentation.
