WAD TPIPE asks for license / purchase

Search for Reg-Key:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DataMystic\TextPipe Engine
and enter these values in the dialog (above).
ATTENTION you can't ex- and import the key to a related user, for ex.:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DataMystic\TextPipe Engine
That DOESN'T WORK! YOU HAVE TO ENTER IT IN DIALOG.
THEN it should run properly.

Just TPIPE in the command line.
But it is acting strange. Sometimes it works, sometimes it ask for a license.

Why should I need to register a license for something that TCMD is using as an internal command (and library)?

Fact seems that it needs that license data. Tpipe is an internal comand but not a program from JPSoft itself as far as I know. In earlier versions for ex. it was already licensed for my admin account but not for my standard (restricted) account ... so, I had to fill out the form like I described.

Well, I've used previous versions of TCMD that included TPIPE and I had used the TPIPE command and it never asked me for license data.
And in fact, right now it's only asking for it sometimes. So it seems like some sort of bug.

I previous version it had asked only for my standard account. In v36 I don't remeber if it was also for my admin account. Maybe also not every time. However, I filled out the form and all was good.
Of course a bug is also possible, no idea.

The internal TPIPE needs textpipeengine64.dll which probably needs authentication. I would have thought that Rex took care of that. I don't think we're supposed to see anything GUI from TPIPE. I have no problem using TPIPE and I didn't register anything. Did you install "normally"?

I installed completely normally, yes. And I agree that we never should see this!

Yes. I installed TCMD v36 from the installer and since then I've updated it a few times using Help / Check for Updates.
The bug seems to happen (though not 100% reliably) the first time I invoke TPIPE in a given TCC tab. Then it doesn't repite again in that same tab.

When it "fails" (asks for the license) and I quit the dialog, there's also this UI window:

The installer creates the registry keys with the license info for textpipeengine64.dll. Your system is apparently blocking the installer from writing to the registry, so textpipeengine64.dll can't find the license and displays the registration dialog.
You need to either unblock the TCMD installer registry writes, or create the registry keys manually, or enter the (JP Software) license info in the dialog that textpipeengine64.dll wants. (Though the latter may not work if your system is blocking registry writes).

I don't know why would my system block the installer from writing to the register.
I entered the license info in the dialog and it worked, so registry writes are definitely not blocked.
Weird.
