Trying to uninstall TCMD 27 in order to reinstall

I am trying to uninstall TCMD 27 because I want to get back to total defaults, and that includes the colors. So I ran Revo Uninstaller after running the standard Windows uninstaller, which runs the program's Uninstaller and then clears the registry.

But it ain't working, because my colors, starting with the bright blue background, are still there.

What do I need to do to TOTALLY remove TCMD 27 so that I can start from scratch?

And it is just the TCC tabs. The TCMD tabs re fine, as are any others I might open (command.com, Powershell, etc.)

I don't think uninstalling removes TCMD.INI. Find it and delete it.

By "TCC tabs", you mean console windows? If the console color palette is wrong, e.g. "black" appears as something other than black, this is controlled by Windows, not Take Command.

To expand on what Charles said ... which of these three doesn't have the colors you want?

1. TCC in a console.

2. TCC in TCMD.

3. TCC in Windows Terminal.

In addition to the previous posts, look in the Windows Registry for the key "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JP Software\Take Command 27" and delete the key. That removes the TCMD window info, but won't affect TCC console windows. (That is controlled by Windows, not TCC.)

OK guys, I ran a complete uninstall, then went through the registry looking for anything left behind. Then I rebooted and then I reinstalled. v27. My registration is still intact., But all my files were gone.

But this is what my TCMD and TCC windows look like with NO modification:

The larger is TCMD. SO... I dunno. And that is after selecting one of the themes with black screen background. I thought maybe it was/is my laptop, but this is the only program that has this issue.

In addition, any other tab I open in TCMD aside from TCC and TCMD itself, has a black background.

That's not a console window. It looks like Windows Terminal, only with some additional doodads I don't recognize on the title bar.

You might try Settings (under the down-chevron next to the plus sign on the title bar), then Color Schemes. Try maybe "Campbell" or "Vintage".

It seems Windows Terminal can also have different color schemes for each "Profile", i.e. application. I learned something new today....

So if the weird colors only affect TCC and not cmd, PowerShell, etc. then maybe find the profile which starts TCC, then go to Appearance, then Color Scheme, and pick a better-looking one.

OK, the only thing left is, s it happens, where I started.

I have the TCC right how I want it; but I cannot seem to rid myself of the self-imposed blue background in TCMD.

?

What happens if you cls /c whi on bla ? Do you get dingy white on black, or do you still see Oxydol white on navy blue?

If "black" is blue, then I'm pretty sure your console color palette is screwed up. (Take Command inherits its tab colors from the underlying console window.) If you will paste and run this command in the miscolored Take Command window:

Code:
echo %@regdelkey["HKCU\Console\%@replace[\,_,%_cmdspec]"]

... then close and restart Take Command, your colors should be back to normal.
