MarkDown Monster is my markdown editor of choice.

For viewing markdown files,
it is faster to use Microsoft Edge,
with the Markdown Viewer extension.

This library function,
part of my Utils.Library file,
allows point and select for .md files,
and opens the .md file in Microsoft Edge,
with the Markdown Viewer extension installed.

Code:
mrkdwn {
@SETLOCAL
@ECHO OFF
if isfunction contains unfunction contains
function contains=`%@index[%1,%2,0]`
iff %@contains[%@search[msedge.exe],msedge.exe] eq 1 then
  iff %# eq 0 then
    iff exist *.md then
      if defined theFile unset theFile
      select /z set theFile=(*.md)
      iff defined theFile then
        set theFile=%@truename[%theFile]
        msedge %theFile
      endiff
    else
      echo No .md files in this folder.
    endiff
  else
    iff exist %1 then
      msedge %@truename[%1]
    else
      echo %1 does not exist in this folder.
    endiff
  endiff
endiff
ENDLOCAL
}
