    PDIR question

If I use pdir /a: /t:wu /(dy-m-d""th:m:s""z fpn) on c:\ I get all the root level files including this line, 2015-07-3021:51:49 <JUNCTION> C:\Documents and Settings. If I use pdir /a: /t:wu /(dy-m-d""th:m:s""z @lower) the result has quotes around the file name as in 2015-07-3021:51:49...

DO statement reversed sort order seems not to work

I think it's because the "do file ... /o:" defaults to file write time but you're using the file create time in the echo.

    Crash dumps

I still have my Win NT and Win 2K Resource Kits and I might try DUMPEL. I did try WINDBG from the MS store but it doesn't give any useful information. Not sure how much time I want to spend on this since it doesn't affect anything I do. Just the event reports and crash dumps. Curiously, event...

    Crash dumps

I don't have the registry entries but I do get the crash dumps. I have three instances from Event Viewer with differenet combinations of TCMD, TCC and NTDLL.

    Crash dumps

Thanks. That info helps. I can see the failing module is either tcmd.exe or tcc.exe and I have determined the crash only happens after I shut down TCMD but not a crash dump after every shut down. Appears to be similar to your situation. It's random although I don't use any plugins. In my case...

    Crash dumps

I recently noticed several TCMD crash dumps in %localappdata%\crashdumps and I don't know how to report them. There is no visible error message, just the dump file. May be occurring from a session run from Task Scheduler. How do I proceed to analyze the cause? Is there a place I should send the...

    strange error in alias

You need to surround the alias with back quotes when you create it so that no expansion or substitution is done until the alias is run: alias kill `c:\windows\system32\taskkill.exe /im %1 /t /f`

A simple question related to the "dir" (and "pdir") commands...

re: A simple question related to the "dir" (and "pdir") commands... From the following quoted from the help for the DIR command: To display only those files which do not have descriptions, use: dir /I"[]" That led me to experiment and I found the [] syntax could be used to mean...

A simple question related to the "dir" (and "pdir") commands...

A simple question (on a completely different subject) related to the "dir" (and "pdir") commands... This should work: dir /ad /s /f /h dirname[] The trailing [] is needed to make it work right. Dennis

    Take Command crashes with TELNET

There is TTERMPRO from hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002416/teraterm.html. It hasn't been updated since 1999 but version 2.3 for Win 95/NT does work under current Windows versions. Dennis

    Beta help

... There are over 300 new features in Take Command and TCC; see the "What's New" section of the help for details. Is there any way to view the "What's New" without actually installing the beta?

No Error Message when running mklink as limited user

The help for @ipaddress has an example of echo %@ipaddress[] which doesn't seem to work anymore. The help for @ipname has an example of echo %@ipaddress[0]. Should be echo %@ipname[0].

    A couple of new plugins

And this quote: But computers can change time zones. If I'm traveling and choose to reset my computer's time zone to local time then all my NTFS file times will shift.

    A couple of new plugins

Agreed. I was only trying to clarify that while the plugin can return a consistent, non-changing event time, it cannot return the original, local event time without knowing both the original time zone and DST setting. The plugin provides a time stamp that doesn't change twice a year which...
