    robocopy cancelling batch file processing

Good Plan! The attached log summarizes the results of a simple copy from one disk to another and so they are not really representative of mirroring 80 to 100 GB over 70 to 80 root folders with tens of thousands of files only a few of which have changed. (My backup runs a separate robocopy for...

    robocopy cancelling batch file processing

The effect of the MT switch may be great or small, but so far I haven't been able to detect it. When I find some time I'll try to see if I can't devise a bit better way to measuring it. At least figure out how to add up the work done (bytes and files copied and deleted) verses the time to run...

    robocopy cancelling batch file processing

Thanks I'll try that when I update a backup on a disk that hasn't been backed up to in a while. I might start with say 30 threads and see if that helps.

    robocopy cancelling batch file processing

I did, just now. Wow! It works and speeds up the process a lot. It must be that @exec raises the priority; I wonder if a high priority start would do the same thing? Thanks Niklas, you saved me probably ten minutes a week to say nothing of enough of an annoyance to keep me from doing backups...

    robocopy cancelling batch file processing

Same problem for many, many years. The robocopy is never interrupted, so that helps a lot. I run the thing for variously between 80 and 100 root directories across 6 disks and it almost always stops after just a few roots folders and then only occasionally after restarting till its done. It's...

    TPipe /dup=...format spec

Right. I was careless in not deleting the input flag, when I catted it. Near as I can tell though it just discards stdin when /input is given. Of course only the careless would care about that.

    TPipe /dup=...format spec

Thanks, just what I needed to see! BTW with your input put in testtpipe I get, cat testtpipe |tpipe /inpput=testpipe2 /dup=1,1,1,100,0,"string %%1:s count %%0:d" string This is a duplicate line count 3 string This is a duplicate line 5 count 2 I couldn't figure out what to do with that example...

    TPipe /dup=...format spec

TPIPE - Text filtering, search, and substitution format - %[index ":"][-][width][.precision]type I haven't had any luck with specifying the format. What are the choices for the [index":"] part? Are the quotes required? Is the 'index' required? What does it do...

Enhancements for the next version, descriptions

For sure. Of course one such program would be tcmd/tcc as in dir /[tag-flag].. or more likely some variant of pdir. And maybe Everything with instead of an /i"*desc-attribute*" we'd have a /[tag-flag]... one. Really the important thing is for tcmd/tcc to take care of the copying, moving and...

Enhancements for the next version, descriptions

TCC descriptions are for me indispensable, but it would even better if there were also tag facility (ie, if you could add a separate field that one could to for example tag files as vacation pictures or how to files). At one time I thought it would be easy to use the non-displayed part of the...

Error running Python at command line

Thanks, glad to hear you are going to fix it.

Error running Python at command line

I think the operative word there may be 'almost'. - I put a path statement in the btm and included the >& output to hopefully show that tcmd thinks python37.dll is in the path. I really don't so much need @python, but having grep as the regex model is not so good. The regex analyzer does...

Error running Python at command line

py and python run fine, @python can't find its dll I can't even use python regex's, trying to check that box hangs tcmd, requiring a task manager end task.
