Change TCC command prompt using XDIR

In the introduction of XIDR it says "XDIR will (optionally) change the TCC directory to the selected XDIR directory". Online help describes in more detail "If the selection is a directory, XDIR will change the listbox to display the contents of that directory. A Ctrl-Enter will also change the TCC default directory to the selected directory."

I have not managed to do this. Ctrl-Enter does absolutely nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Support to also change the drive via XDIR would be great.

Ctrl-Double_Left_Click does it. I don't know why Ctrl-Enter doesn't.

Similarly, BackSpace works as advertised but Ctrl-BackSpace doesn't.

I think that the help information is wrong. If you look at the default INI file, there is XDirSelect=Enter (Enter, not Ctrl-Enter). Indeed, Enter works.

I believe that in a different thread I reported another discrepancy of that sort.

Given that adding Ctrl- to a left double-click on a directory makes the change ALSO change TCC's current working directory, don't you suppose the same was intended for <Enter>?

Yes. I hadn't noted the distinction between displaying the directory and changing TCC's default directory, as Ctrl-left-double-click does.

However, something I just noticed seems strange. When one does that, the XDIR display changes and the TCC default directory changes, but when XDIR is invoked again, it shows the same directory that it did previously, not the new default directory. Wouldn't one expect a new invocation of the XDIR command to open in the current TCC directory?

Ctrl-Double_Left_Click does it.

Indeed, it does. But that's not really convenient. I don't want to take my fingers off the keyboard to do that.

I really would like to see improvements to XDIR so it can be used as an interactive CDD command, to easily navigate the entire folder structure (across drives), giving the user the choice to exit to TCC prompt in the most recently displayed directory or to continue in the directory where it has been invoked.

Are JPSOFT folks reading here in the forums or would I need to address my request anywhere else?
