In a ConPTY session, characters are still extending into the gutter and disappearing. It can be seen in this screenshot. The '5' is completely under the gutter, and one would have no idea that it was there.,,
Here is the information about my installation. Note that I have turned off the new display options (e.g., folding on the left). I didn't use them and found them distracting.
Another issue I have found with ConPTY sessions is that selecting text with the mouse often fails, especially when starting after a space character. Even when the mouse starts well to the left of a character, the selection often ends up beginning with the character to its right. Initially, the first character is selected, but as the mouse moves to the right, the selection jumps and begins on the second character.
Here's the start of an attempt to select the text starting with "SWH".
As the mouse continues to move to the right, this is the result
