Error installing 36 trial on Windows 11 25H2

I downloaded the version 36 trial. After fighting Windows 11 to run the tcmd.exe, it eventually gave me an error (attached) about creating C:\users\public\documents\DataMysic. Windows did not pop up any messages.

I haven’t seen that error before (and nobody else has reported it). The installer needs to create that directory for the TPIPE command. (Previous versions of TCMD / TCC also create that directory.)

Does that directory exist?

Were you updating from a previous version?

Do you have a Windows Policy that is blocking the directory creation?

I have Take Command 29 installed on this laptop.
The directory "C:\Users\Public\Documents" doesn't exist.
I have "C:\Users\Public documents".

ok. the File Explorer that I attached above says the file is "C:\Users\Public\Public Documents," but the DIR command in Take Command says it is "Public\Documents" as it should be. It has one directory in it from Adobe.

OK. After manually creating a couple of folders and getting the same error on the next one, I finally got a notification from Windows Security. It eventually took me to "Ransomware Protection." It was turned on. I turned it off and tried again, and it installed with no problems.

Hmm -- "Ransomware Protection" is a new one on me. I called it up in Windows Security and it says "Protect files, folders, and memory areas on your device from unauthorized changes by unfriendly applications."

Microsoft doesn't mention anything about how it differs from authorized changes by friendly applications ...
