Feature request for SENDMAIL

Would it be possible, Rex, in the next major version, perhaps, to add an option to SENDMAIL so that the Date: header is generated using the local time with the local offset, rather than "Greenwich" time?

That is instead of "Wed, 28 Jan 2009 20:05:05 GMT" could it be
"Wed, 28 Jan 2009 15:05:05 -0500"?

(Perhaps switch /T (for 'time') with /TU for UTC and /TL for local.)

And possibly a subsidiary option /Zxxx for the 3- or 4-character parenthesized zone abbrevation like
"Wed, 28 Jan 2009 15:05:05 -0500 (EST)"?

The default action, of course, should be the current behavior so that existing scripts wouldn't break.

If everyone used UTC, it wouldn't matter, but UTC is not mandated by current standards, and local times are permitted, and most people use local times and they seem more friendly (though I admit that's subjective).

And, as a nit, when using UTC, the suffix should be UTC not GMT. GMT is truly obsolete. In a sense, there's no such thing any more. Purists (that is, people who are more pedantic than I) would say instead of GMT or UTC, you should use -0000.
