Today, I had and have also many many "An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later."

There have been 7.7 million failed attempts to connect to the JP Software forums database today. While I would like to think that Take Command is on the verge of becoming wildly popular, the more likely explanation is that it's under attack (again). Nothing's been corrupted, but the number of concurrent users is overwhelming the MySQL database.

Did you learn anything about where the 19,000 guests were coming from?

Mostly Brazil, Iraq, and Chile.

18,000 guests at the momets and it's causing problems. Can you do anything about it?

I block the bad actors and they switch to different botnets. Not much I can do proactively other than require everyone to answer a challenge berore accessing the forum.
