How do I prevent accidentally detaching all tabs into separate windows

Hi, I'm using TC34.01. Every so often, I think I must be hitting some key sequence that makes all of my tabs suddenly jump to being separate windows (which I don't seem to be able to re-consolidate as tabs). I haven't been able to figure out the key sequence that does this. Is there any way to disable this key sequence? This never happened to me using any prior version of TC. I've been using TC the mid-1990's!

It would be helpful to know the key sequence.

TCMD may have crashed? You might look in the Event Log (Event Viewer\Windows Logs\Application, possibly event ID 1000).

Each of the newly-opened windows is live; TCMD has not crashed. But possibly EventViewer would tell me the magic key sequence.

I'm not aware of any way to define a shortcut for this (within TC). Maybe there exist some undocumented?

A shortcut would most likely not be visible in the Event Viewer.

If I forcibly kill TakeCommand, after a few seconds its hidden TCC consoles become visible. I'm betting on a crash.

There isn't any key sequence in TCMD that will do that.

Does the TCMD window still exist? TCMD will close automatically if it doesn't have any tab windows, but you can disable this behavior with the Take Command option (uncheck Advanced / Advanced Options / "Close if no tabs exist").

If TCMD crashes (rare, since TCMD handles most exceptions internally), it will write a file called "TCMD.exception.log" in the "c:\programdata\jp software\take command 35" directory. If another program has injected code into TCMD and that code crashes (unfortunately much more common) then they usually don't handle the exception and the TCMD exception handler never gets called, so no log file is written. It's common for AV / antimalware apps and screen managers to inject code into other apps.

I have a similar situation with v35.00.21. In my case, TCMD crashes leaving all of the TCC tabs as separate windows. I need to relaunch TCMD and reattach the tabs. In my case, on Windows 11 Enterprise, it writes a file like tcmd.exe.12496.dmp to the AppData\Local\CrashDumps folder. Let me know if you want me to email you a .zip file with some of these .dmp files.
