Rather than asking the user to correctly highlight a variable name (do I include quotes do I include percents, etc) make hover correctly identify the variable name and then all the user should have to do is to right-click the variable name available without highlighting to add it to the Watch List if desired.
Currently, hovering doesn't always get the variable names correct and I suspect that's part of the issue of hovering not displaying values in IF and Set statements where variable names can be a bit confusing as well or they are amended to satisfy the statement structures. I suspect that anywhere the variable names are changed to statisfy particular statement functionality there's a problem hovering to display a value and the user may or may not be saavy enough to know but this is the point of automation to make tasks simpler.
