QCal and Holidays.ini

Hey @Charles Dye
I'm using Version: 1.7 Build 5 of plugin ISO8601

I have a section in my Holidays.ini file, [JLC]

It works as it should;
Code:
qcal /c:JLC /l /3

However, I have to copy the contents of the [Canada] section of Holidays.ini file
to the [JLC] section if I want the info from both sections to be used.

If I try to use two different section names in the same command line,
the last section name of the line is used, not both.

Other than copying [Canada] to [JLC],
would it be possible in a future version to be able to use multiple sections instead of just one section?

I've always assumed one section at a time. Multiple sections would mean... merging holidays? Checking for duplicates? I'll have to think about that one.

It's probably that I am mis-using the Holidays.ini file.

I have been using,
since the early 2000s,
an ancient DOS program called DATES.EXE,
in conjunction with the qcal command.

Code:
msdos.exe %cmdArgs dates.exe DATES.LST VACATION.LST APPTS.LST DVDNDS.LST /D7 /CTDOWN /SORT /DAY /GLOBAL /Q

DATES.EXE allows me to use several .lst files as arguments, allowing me to keep my dates catagorized.

So, I'm attempting to use Holidays.ini for multiple things,
instead of one thing.

Example;
Code:
[VACATION]
[APPOINTMENTS]
[DIVIDENDS]

That is,
I'm trying to use Holidays.ini for something that it was not meant to do.

Charles,

There's a clear benefit to using merged holydays lists. Take for example religious holidays and country official holidays.
