How to? Selecting and copying text is a huge friction (for me)

Hi,

I'd like to find out if I'm doing something wrong or if there is room for improvement - or if nothing can be done about it.

Something that continually throws me off track is when I "simply" want to select text and copy it to the clipboard and TCC/TCMD surprise me with great variation: (TLDR: why is not just Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert?)
  • TCMD>Command Input Window: Ctrl+C ✅
  • TCMD>TCC prompt: no hotkey, context menu (or Edit menu) has: copy ❌
    • config has Kbd>Clipboard>Commands>Copy - so I assigned Ctrl+Y - but it's not doing that
  • TCC: select text, press Enter to copy ✅ (or right-click text)
Am I missing something?
 
In TCMD, if you select with the mouse, then it is already copied.

Selecting with the keyboard seems weird to me. I don't understand what it is doing. I can highlight and copy, but the text is still highlighted, so I can't paste where I want to.
 
Oh, it isn't the default. Options > Advanced: Linux-style Selection: Copy selected text automatically to the clipboard when the left mouse button is released. If you have the shift key down, the selected text will be appended to the clipboard.
 
Ah, indeed - THANK YOU! That solves the biggest pain. Too bad the Input Window doesn't support that...
 
I like WT's way ... select and right-click ... it's in the clipboard.
 
Exactly what it says in the Take Command Help: "Copy selected text automatically to the clipboard when the left mouse button is released. If you have the shift key down, the selected text will be appended to the clipboard."
