Is that something new? @TCIPC is a plugin.I believe so. Pretty sure TCTOOLBAR is using TakeCommandIPC(), which requires both ends to be the same version.
The image in post #4 is of TCCv34 using TakeCommandIPC() in TCMDv35. My plugin returns a window handle and TCTOOLBAR /I does not give an error. I've repeated that several times. But it's an oddity. I looked a little and didn't find another version mismatch where it worked.I could be completely wrong, of course. But I've never known TakeCommandIPC() to work between different versions of TCC and Take Command.
