How to? Trying to create TCC shortcut that opens with blue background (on Windows 8.1 x64)

Could someone who is running the 64-bit version of TCC (TCC 16.03.55), please try to create a desktop shortcut that opens TCC (not TCMD) in a window with a blue background? (I am on Windows 8.1) I have done this successfully for every prior version of TCC, but am unable to do it with this...

    Bug? TCC 16.03.55 Console Palette

I've concluded that this definitely appears to be a bug. I've reproduced it on Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7. Can someone try the following steps to confirm. (Rex, is this a known issue?) 1. Install a fresh version of 16.03.55 (x64). 2. Under Configure TTC Options, on the Windows tab...

    Bug? TCC 16.03.55 Console Palette

By the way, I forgot to mention that I am running 16.03.55 (the x64 version) on Windows 8.1 x64. Hope this helps. Greg

Anyone else see these problems? Thanks, Greg

    Bug? TCC 16.03.55 Console Palette

Running TCC 16.03.55 on Windows 8.1. Under Configure TTC Options, on the Windows tab, if I click on Console Palette, I cannot click on OK to commit the changes. The child window is losing focus and it looks like focus is being captured by the TCC application's parent window. Same thing happens...

    PROMT command in TCSTART.BTM

Thanks Rex. So, what's the best way to solve this, given that I want use 4NT, and not TCC. (I'm a long-time 4NT purist. :)) Anyway, I tried launching my 4nt window, and then executing a series of "TCC" commands to create nested TCC shells. Again, I do not see the correct shell number...

file not detected by "DIR" command?

Yes, it is the 64-bit version of Windows 7. Thanks for helping me out - it was confusing because I was only seeing it with 4NT. I just upgraded to v10 last week. Is v11 availabe now or just in Beta? If Beta, when will it release? Thanks again! Greg

file not detected by "DIR" command?

Here's a strange problem I found: 1. On Windows 7, copy the file WinCmdRef.chm to the Windows\System32 directory. (This file can be found on the Microsoft site, I believe.) 2. Open up a 4NT command window (As Administrator). Change directory (CD) to the Windows\System32 folder. 3. Type...

    PROMT command in TCSTART.BTM

I'm running v10 on a Windows 7 machine. (Running 64-bit Windows 7.) I have the following command in my TCSTART.BTM: PROMPT $z-$P$_===$g I launch 4nt through a shortcut on my desktop. (I use 4NT.exe, not TCC.exe) My prompt correctly indicates that I am at shell 0. Hoever, if I type 4nt at the...

    create standalone .exe?

Does anyone know if there is any way to create a standalone .exe from a 4nt batch file that could be run on another machine? Any third party tools? Any plans to support this? If such a thing exists, what are the distribution licensing rules? Thanks, Greg

    4NT 9.02 _shell internal variable

Thanks, Rex. I feel much more confident now that I can just remove the SFN from my Path. Greg

    4NT 9.02 _shell internal variable

UPDATE: After all of this discussion and investigation, this appears to me to be a bug in 9.02. It looks like when I install on Vista using the default destination folder, the installer puts a SFN into my PATH for my TCMD9 directory. A "Which /A 4nt" command confirms this, giving me a single SFN...

    4NT 9.02 _shell internal variable

Thanks. So what is my solution here? I checked my PATH environment variable, and yes, my path to 4nt is a SFN path. It is C:\PROGRA~1\JPSoft\TCMD9 1. How did this get there as a SFN on my machine? (I did a default installation into the default directory (C:\Program Files\JPSoft\TCMD9) on my...

    4NT 9.02 _shell internal variable

This is even more interesting......notice that my "which" gives different results after I "cd" out of the 4nt.exe directory. TCC 9.02.151 Windows Vista [Version 6.0.6001] Copyright 2008 Rex Conn & JP Software Inc. All Rights Reserved Registered to Chief Architect Inc - 1 System License...
