How to enable \ with tab completion

I thought that I had restarted at least once, but I was in the midst of working through the changes. A restart this time and it works as expected. SO thanks for that Charles Dye. By the way, was not aware I could just enter "option" from the command line. Been a while since I spent significant...

How to enable \ with tab completion

Been spending all my time on Linux, but finally updated V11 to V25. I managed to configure V11 to append \ with tab completion for directory names. Consider: https://jpsoft.com/help/filecomp.htm This states that if a directory is found, it will append \ I fired up TakeCommand 25, used "cd...

    Installing to a different machine

I expected that running from a thumb drive would still cause a problem.... That said, in the VM, a reduced functionality version is likely just fine. I will take a look at the LE version. I never checked the differences between the versions.

    Installing to a different machine

I work multiple projects and they frequently have installation requirements that conflict. My solution is virtual machines. I only run one VM at a time, but, it never occurred to me that I should use the same name. Previously, I assumed that as long as I was the sole user I was probably fine. (I...

    VMWare Shared Drives

Oh my goodness. Now that had not occurred to me. Some things that I do fail if I am not the administrator, so, I ran TCC as an administrator. Went back to the standard user and there it is. You are correct. How annoying! Thanks. You ever make it to Columbus Ohio, I have a drink with your name...

    VMWare Shared Drives

Installed TCC into a 64-bit Windows 7 VM (using VMWare). VMWare is configured to map drive Z: to access the host machine. I see z: inside Windows Explorer. I can use "dir z:\C" from CMD. TCC, however, does not see the drive: C:\Program Files\JPSoft\TCMD12x64]echo %_DRIVES A: C: D...

Help > Update triggers invalid configuration

The problem has resolved itself (and TC updated itself to 11.0.38). Perhaps something was stale on my end...

Help > Update triggers invalid configuration

This produces what you show. Does the updater use FTP? If yes, it may be blocked by a firewall over which I have no control. I assume that it does not, because your example command here uses http, not ftp. No, I doubt that is the problem, because it was working recently (I think even after I...

    Free update keys sent

Now I suspect that my service contract on TC has expired. Sent an email Tuesday (through the web site)... Left a voice message today.

    Done Better update information

I love the update capability in Take Command. It felt to me like Take Command 9 had not noticed any new updates in a very long time. When I request an update check, the message says "your software is up to date". Well, it is not up to date; Version 10 is out. It would be nice if I had been...

Equal sign on command line (Maven and wicket quickstart)

Very interesting.... This has the potential to break many items people that live in the Java world and set arguments using -D<varname>=<value>. They will only break because they are not adding quotes by default. Now that I am aware of this, I can watch for the problem in the future. TCC...

Equal sign on command line (Maven and wicket quickstart)

I used maven commands generated from the Wicket quick start. You can use http://wicket.apache.org/quickstart.html to very quickly generate starting point with wicket and maven. To use this, you download and install Maven, and then run this single command: I spent many hours tracking down why...

    Cygwin and TCmd 9

I did not try what you state, but I have run cygwin from inside of TCC. Have you looked at cygwin.bat? If I run this, it starts a cygwin session inside of my tcc window with no problems.
