Time /s funny

time /s does not work on 4nt8 8.02.106 but is fine on tcc/le 13.06. This is same on 2 different pcs.

Adding an explicit server name ie time /s clock.psu.edu again works on tcc/le 13.06 but not on 4nt.

My impression is that is has worked in past on 4nt - so why not now?

Any ideas welcome.

xp on 1 pc win 7 on another

TIME /S won't work in recent versions of Windows (Vista or later) unless you're running in an elevated session.

Also, the default time source was changed to "time-b.nist.gov" several versions ago.

(We do not support v8 in Windows 7; there are just way too many Windows API changes.)

Thanks - hadn't realised the default source had changed - seems as if the previous one had worked, but then stopped. Can confirm that add this to time /s makes it 4nt8 work on xp and (the unsupported) win 7.
