    Hang/Crash When Requesting Help

Thanks, Rex! That solved the problem. re the download issue, I had followed the "Previous Versions" link from the JPSoft.com home page rather than the "All Versions" link you mentioned. The "Previous Versions" page doesn't list TCC 18.0, but the other one does.

Where can I find that version? Your "Previous Versions" page doesn't have anything after TCC 17.0, i.e. TCC 18.x isn't present.

    Hang/Crash When Requesting Help

TCC 18.00.16 x64 Windows 7 [Version 6.1.7601] I know this used to work but lately if I type a command name then press F1, an empty help window pops up, the main TCC screen goes foggy (as in non-responsive), then hangs. After a minute or two Windows pops up a dialog that "TCC has stopped...

Take Command 18 x64 Install Hang

Actually, that is probably exactly what happened. I thought I clicked "Run ..." but didn't see anything change and didn't get the bell sound... The first time. Thanks, Rex!

Take Command 18 x64 Install Hang

Just downloaded and ran the 18.0 x64 installation. At the end, it left a window up saying "Take Command x64 18.0 has been successfully installed", with options to View the Readme file, Run Take Command x64 18.0, or Close the window. Can't do anything with the window. Clicking ANYWHERE on it...

Possible Bug: History /n Returns Nothing

Ahhhh. The Help doesn't make that clear. Nevermind :-)

Possible Bug: History /n Returns Nothing

Title says it all: I can do 'history' and it will show entire command history, 'history /t%_rows' shows the last x commands entered where 'x' is the number of screen lines, but 'history /n' just displays one blank line, regardless of any other switches on the line. .

TC "Registering" but NOT Registering, Now Hung on TCMD Option Screen

Thanks, Rex! I'm not quite sure what happened, but when I ran it as Administrator it came up and said it was registered to my name, i.e. no "evaluation/register" window like before. I registered again anyway, and now I can bring up TCMD and/or TCC and it just comes right up and shows it as...

TC "Registering" but NOT Registering, Now Hung on TCMD Option Screen

Purchased an upgrade license for TC 17 x64 this morning. Installing it on a new company laptop which has never had TC on it before. Then downloaded the 64-bit evaluation version and installed it. Clicked on "Run Take Command 17" in the installer after it finished; nothing happened and that...

DIR command combo that hangs with high CPU %

Defrag regularly, haven't done a chkdsk lately but I have had this problem consistently for a long time and have tried it on other Win7 machines, seeing the same problem. Might be an interaction with some of my other software... I guess I could spin up a clean Win7 VM and try it there... But I...

DIR command combo that hangs with high CPU %

Sorry for the delay in responding. Been distracted with other things. Thanks for all of the suggestions, but none of them have resolved the problem: /NJ, |!, redirect to a file, pipe to MORE, all hang. Past experience tells me Murphy is behind it... I seem to have all kinds of strange problems...

    Take Command Major Updates Poll

I'm with Steve on this. I usually make do with whatever version of any given product that I last purchased, unless: 1) There are annoying bugs that I hope are fixed, which is usually not true for most products/upgrades :( 2) The upgrade price is below a particular threshold, typically $10-20 I...

DIR command combo that hangs with high CPU %

No alias for list. TCSTART contains: prompt $t $+$P$g shralias alias /r "%@Path[%comspec]aliases" Perhaps something in TCMD.INI? I've attached a copy...

DIR command combo that hangs with high CPU %

I have a command I try to use on occasion when I want to search for text globally on disk (usually from the C:\ directory): ffind/s/v/t"amazing" *.*|list/s (replace 'amazing' with the text to search for) TCC never completes this command (I've let it run for days on end) and task manager...
