Can you redirect output to printer device with echo?

    Newbie question:
    echo ^f > lpt1: or echo ^f > prn:
    ^f = formfeed....
    I type the command mode /status command
    It reported that I have only a con: and com1: device...?

    There is no printer device in Windows (that's a leftover concept from the days of DOS), so there's nothing you can redirect to.

    You need to redirect to a file, and then print that file. (See the TCC PRINT command.)
