TCC won't run telnet on 64-bit Windows 7 RC1

I need to run the command line telnet client in TCC under Windows 7. I installed the option and it runs fine under cmd. However, TCC says TCC: Unknown command "telnet".

Under cmd I can see telnet.exe in c:\windows\system32. It's just not there in TCC. I tried copying the exe somewhere else and running it - it hung. I tried using the telnet client from XP. Same result.

I tried running cmd /c telnet from within TCC & got 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. cmd /c telnet works from within cmd.

I tried running TCC in compatibility mode. No joy.

Help!

Thanks

Dave

Are you running the x64 version of Windows 7? If so, you need to turn
off the x64 file system redirection Windows is (un)helpfully doing so
that TCC can actually *see* the c:\windows\system32 directory.

Go to OPTION / Startup and uncheck "Win64 File System Redirection".

Yes, I am. I did that and I can now "see" telnet ... but it hangs :(

I am able to use PUTTY on Win7. Perhaps that will solve your problem.

Actually, go to Control Panel \ Add Remove Programs \ Turn Windows
Features On or Off \ check Telnet client. When you run as
administrator, it now works.
