Right now if I use a directory alias in an external command, I can hit 'tab' to expand it as needed.
I wish the same thing would happen with file:// paths, although I know this is more than expansion since there encodings to decode, unc vs drive-spec, etc...
Along these same lines, I really wish there was an option to turn on that basically said: Scan and convert directory aliases and file:// paths before executing external commands. I know this could be dangerous, but I'm not sure it's any more dangerous than directory aliases behaving differently between copy and xcopy just because xcopy is external.
